The Music of Prince Brought to Life by the Utah Symphony with Marshall Charloff at the Deer Valley® Music Festival Featured

PARK CITY, Utah (July 5, 2017) – On Thursday, July 20, 2017 at 7:30 PM, the Utah Symphony pays tribute to one of the most prolific artists of our time. Prince solidified his place in music history with an astounding range of eclectic styles both vocally and instrumentally, including funk, rock, R&B, pop and many others. Marshall Charloff will perform as lead singer and guitarist, and Brent Havens will conduct the Utah Symphony. Berklee-trained arranger/conductor Brent Havens has written music for orchestras, feature films and virtually every kind of television. His TV work includes movies for networks such as ANC, CBS and ABC Family Channel Network, commercials, sports music for networks such as ESPN and even cartoons. Mr. Havens also arranged and conducted the combined group for the Harley Davidson’s 100th Anniversary Birthday Party Finale attended by over 150,000 fans. He has worked with some of the world’s greatest orchestras including the Royal Philharmonic in London. Havens has conducted the Malaysian Philharmonic the past four years with the Music of Michael Jackson, Led Zeppelin, Queen and Music of U2 shows.
 
Lead singer, Marshall Charloff, not only styles the magic of Prince’s talent in an uncannily unmatched fashion with his appearance, vocal imitation, and multi-instrumental capacity on guitar and piano, but also performs nationwide fronting world-class symphonies in most major cities in the U.S. and Canada. Marshall Charloff is a celebrated producer and recording artist. He produced, wrote and recorded for the Multi-Platinum and Grammy® award-winning Commodores. 
 
This performance is a part of the Utah Symphony | Utah Opera’s 14th season of the Deer Valley® Music Festival. The Festival is comprised of 16 performances over six weeks. On the following night, Friday, July 21 at 7:30 PM, Diana Krall will perform with her band as part of her 2017 world tour. Tickets to that performance will include a copy of her highly anticipated new album Turn Up the Quiet. Future concerts will feature popular music such as “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone™ in Concert,” and “Disney in Concert - A Dream is a Wish.” Other prominent guest artists will include Leslie Odom Jr. and Ben Folds.

TICKET INFORMATION
Subscription, group, and VIP tickets for the Deer Valley® Music Festival are on sale now. Prices are subject to change and increase $5 on the day of the performance. Children 3 years of age and under are free in the General Admission section. No ticket is required. Programming and guest artists are subject to change. VENUE INFORMATION
Outside food and drink are permitted. We recommend arriving early to picnic on the lawn prior to the concert. Concessions, including options from the grill and beverages, are for sale at the venue. Gourmet picnic baskets may be ordered in advance through Deer Valley. Gates open approximately at 5:30 PM to the public. Arrive early for best seating and parking options as the venue fills up quickly for most performances. 
 
The venue is a ski hill with a base altitude of 6,570 feet and may be difficult for some patrons to walk up. There are a few sections with limited views due to grading. Volunteers can point out the best seating locations available. Chairs are provided in the reserved and ADA seating sections. Outside chairs can be brought in and used on the west side of the General Admission section, but must be low chairs that are no higher than 9” from the ground. A limited number of chairs are available to rent at the venue. These will sell out early for popular performances. Approximate performance time is two hours with one 20-minute intermission. 
 
Free parking is available at the venue. Carpooling is strongly recommended to help alleviate traffic congestion. You may need to walk up to 0.5 mile from the parking lot to the venue, but you may utilize the drop off zone in front of the ticket office if you have large items like coolers. Temperatures drop significantly when the sun goes down. A blanket or jacket is highly recommended. Temperature projection: Check back on the week of the performance.
