SALT LAKE CITY, Utah (June 19, 2014) – The Utah Symphony is pleased to announce it has commissioned preeminent contemporary American composer Nico Muhly to write a piece of music for the Utah Symphony to be inspired by Southern Utah’s national parks and landscapes.

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah (June 17, 2014) – The regular season of the Utah Symphony is over, but that doesn’t mean the artists are taking time off before the Deer Valley® Music Festival starts in July. The Utah Symphony is determined to reach as many corners of Utah as possible with the Mighty 5® Tour in August and the Community Concert Series throughout the summer. This series is an annual tradition for the Utah Symphony at different venues: Scera Shell in Orem, Sundance Resort in Provo Canyon, Thanksgiving Point in Lehi, and Snowbasin Resort in Huntsville.

Salt Lake City, UT (April 23, 2014) – Utah Opera is pleased to present a special performance of The Abduction from the Seraglio for blind and visually-impaired members of the community. Organized by the Utah Symphony | Utah Opera Education Department, this event is an opportunity for blind and visuallyimpaired patrons to attend the Wednesday, May 7 evening dress rehearsal of the opera. The story of Mozart’s The Abduction from the Seraglio follows a dashing nobleman doing his best to rescue a fair damsel in distress who has been kidnapped by Turkish pirates.
